Job Summary

ALG Network Ghana Ltd is seeking for a partner organization a highly qualified Part-Time Agronomist to support our innovative agribusiness project focused on the production and export of high-quality tropical vegetables, including chilli pepper, onions, tomato, and spinach, to international markets in Europe and North America. The Agronomist will provide technical expertise for vegetable production, oversee farm management, and ensure strict quality control to meet rigorous international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Farm Management & Oversight: Manage daily agricultural operations at the Dago farm, including land preparation, planting, and crop maintenance for chilli pepper and spinach.
• Production Expertise: Provide technical guidance on the cultivation of tropical vegetables to optimize yields and ensure produce meets export-grade specifications.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality assurance protocols to ensure all produce adheres to international food safety and quality standards, specifically GlobalG.A.P. and ISO standards.
• Export Compliance: Collaborate with the logistics manager to establish packaging procedures that ensure freshness and safety during long-distance international shipping.
• Project Support: Contribute to the strategic implementation of the agribusiness project, supporting the company’s vision to connect local farmers to global markets.

Required Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in agronomy, specifically in tropical vegetable production.
• Strong knowledge of farm management and international agricultural quality standards (GlobalG.A.P., ISO).
• Experience in preparing agricultural products for the export market is highly desirable.
