Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead our operational functions and drive the overall success of ALG. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the consulting landscape in Africa, a proven track record of operational leadership, and a passion for fostering collaboration and innovation within multidisciplinary teams. The COO will work closely with the executive leadership team to align operational strategies with organizational goals and ensure the seamless execution of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment of operational initiatives with ALG’s mission and vision.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of ALG, ensuring that all processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with best practices in the consulting industry.
- Project Management: Develop and implement project management frameworks to ensure successful project delivery, adherence to timelines, and budget management across all engagements.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Client Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and partners, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth and collaboration.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial performance of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize profitability and sustainability.
- Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Innovation: Drive innovation within the organization by exploring new methodologies, technologies, and partnerships that enhance ALG’s service offerings and operational capabilities.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in operational leadership roles, preferably within the consulting industry or related sectors in Africa.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex projects and teams, with a track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of the socio-economic landscape across Africa, with the ability to navigate diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
- A strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for operational excellence and innovation.
